After a great year so far, we are over the moon to announce we have been shortlisted for another four awards at this years Drum Network Awards - go team!

Shortlisted for Scottish Marketing Business of the Year, Retail Strategy of the Year for Illuminated Mirrors, B2B Strategy of the Year for the EDF Energy Market Insights Portal and B2C Strategy of the Year for People Make Glasgow we are super proud of the work we’ve done this year.

As you will have noticed, we have had a great year for awards, our Cat has bagged three awards in the last few months, we have been shortlisted for awards with the Drum, ScotlandIS and featured in the Drum’s Digital Census top 100. We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for the four awards we entered alongside some amazing companies and talent and so here’s why we’ve been nominated…


Scottish Marketing Business of the Year

Bold, curious and driven, we’ve been shortlisted for Scottish Marketing Business of the Year! Since the beginning of the year the company has turned a corner and all with our amazing team at the core. Despite considerable resource being assigned elsewhere, the first 3 months were the most profitable months the company has ever seen and we have exceeded original targets to build our presence in Manchester by acquiring digital agency, Fluid Creativity, as well as establishing a presence in the US launching 'After Digital Inc’ following a large American client win with Salt Lake Center for the Arts.

After creating new positions to strengthen the team’s breadth of knowledge / skillset and forming a group of Culture Leaders to build a vibrant and inclusive company culture, we are looking forward to a bright future for the agency.

Retail Strategy of the Year - Illuminated Mirrors

After experiencing falling social media engagement levels and diminishing returns from PPC, Illuminated Mirrors selected After Digital as a strategic digital partner to build traffic and revenue through digital marketing. Combining a complementary mix of social media campaigns, search engine optimisation, pay-per-click advertising and blogger outreach we increased exposure and reach for the Illuminated Mirrors brand. This resulted in 37% increase in online revenue, 25% profit increase and 40% increase in website visitors not to mention 552% increase in organic revenue within the first six months, 91% increase in Facebook fans and 84% boost in YouTube views and engagement.


We are super proud of our success and the results for Illuminated Mirrors and thrilled to be shortlisted alongside top agencies The Corner for their work with Adidas, Tangerine for work with Reebok and Unity for work with M&S #FollowTheFairies campaign.

B2C Strategy of the Year

During Spring 2013, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau engaged people in conversation aimed at shaping the new city brand asking the question ‘What makes Glasgow great?’ More than 1,500 people from 42 countries responded and it sparked the launch of the new brand People Make Glasgow. Six months on, we were selected to completely redevelop the website reflecting the city’s distinctive individuality giving tourists and visitors an online community as engaging as the city itself.


User engagement and interaction was crucial and in the second phase of the project we developed the ‘Wonder Wall’ - user-generated content including text, videos and images from real people illustrating what makes Glasgow great. Similarly, a new blog interface was introduced providing a platform for guest bloggers to share their love and stories of the city. Furthermore, to give the visitor a tailored experience we developed ‘My Itinerary’ allowed users the ability to create tailored schedules for their stay with the ability to share on social media or download as a PDF.

Since the site launched we have seen 71% increase in unique visitors, 61% increase in web user engagement and 59% in pageviews.

B2B Strategy of the Year - EDF Energy Market Insights Portal

Having worked on the EDF Energy agency roster, we were selected to develop the ‘Market Insights’ portal to provide market intelligence to energy engaged industrial, commercial and public sector organisations to help them make informed decisions.


This project has been praised as one of the best digital solutions the EDF Energy Group has ever implemented. In the first month there was a 2,900% increase in new users as well a 300 new business users every month. Internally it has been a roaring success and has been awarded the Inspire Award for innovation at the EDF Energy European-wide internal awards for which only ‘exceptional pieces of work’ are put forward so we are delighted to be nominated for another award for this project.
