We’re excited to launch the stunning new Glasgow Science Centre website, adding to our growing portfolio of innovative digital work with leading UK attractions and venues.

With the recent addition of the prestigious Science Museum Group to our client list, which incorporates the Science Museum, National Railway Museum, National Media Museum, and Museum of Science & Industry, we’re thrilled to expand on our projects within the thriving science and technology sector.

Following a competitive tender process, After Digital was selected as the digital agency of choice for the Glasgow Science Centre, contracted to develop the dynamic new website and provide digital consultancy to bring the organisation up-to-date in the online space.

Fun, bright and bold design brings the site to life, engaging visitors and encouraging them to delve deeper into the world of science. Playful fonts, calls to action and seamlessly integrated multimedia further promote interaction with the Glasgow Science Centre.

One of the biggest challenges was to create an intuitive interface, which clearly translated the vast volume of content to a number of different user groups and stakeholders. Drop-down menus, clear breadcrumb trails and smart design elements ensure the user always knows where they are in the site and can easily navigate between pages.

A key feature of the new site is the ‘Itinerary’ builder, which allows users to plan their next visit, adding and removing exhibitions to a dedicated area, to construct an itinerary that they can then save, print, email and share with friends on social media. Further functionality includes integration with the TOR ticketing system to allow users to easily book IMAX cinema tickets online, social media feeds to support a constant turnover of fresh content, and a clickable rotating banner.

The site also hosts a wide spectrum of online educational resources, focused around specific scientific topics. Games, downloads and teaching resources encourage users to engage with science and learn.
