We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected to design and develop the new look website, consisting of a full suite of dynamic responsive templates, for the highly acclaimed University of Southampton.

Founded in 1862, the University of Southampton is a leading educational institution specialising in engineering, medicine, business, law and science. A member of the Russell Group of elite British Universities, the University aims to attract high quality undergraduate and postgraduate students from across the globe, building on its prestigious brand image and reputation for excellence.

Having worked with many top higher and further educational organisations over the years, including the University of Bath, Bournemouth University and the University of Stirling, we’re delighted to be able to apply our breadth of experience to this unique challenge and help University of Southampton to shine in the online space.

Sophie Dear, Head of Digital at University of Southampton, said; "We selected After Digital to carry out the redesign of our University website because of their holistic, thorough and creative approach to web design. I'm confident that together we will create an engaging sector leading design that is shaped around the user journey, providing them with a seamless experience through which they achieve their goals.”

Currently, the structure of the University’s website consists of a central website and many sub-sites/microsites, which all make use of the same set of templates. With the emphasis on mobile web growing and the current site presenting a poor user experience across devices, the University realised the need to bring the design up-to-date creating a user-centric, streamlined and multi-device friendly new website.

As such, our talented team of designers and front-end developers will be hard at work over the next few months working with University of Southampton’s development team to produce a modern new responsive platform that better reflects the quality of the organisation to the world.

With a range of stakeholders and key target audiences, the team will focus on a user-first design for the new site that caters to individual requirements and supports key business objectives, whilst offering the flexibility for University of Southampton staff to create tailored pages and sections that best meet individual department/faculty/campaign needs.

We are delighted to have been chosen for this responsive web design project for the University of Southampton and look forward to building a strong relationship with key stakeholders throughout the process.

David Johnstone, Business Development Director at After Digital, said; “The University of Southampton’s innovative and entrepreneurial approach to education and research are very much in line with After Digital’s ethos and we’re delighted to be working with them to develop an equally innovative and modern new responsive website. We hope our experience, both in the education sector and across other industries, will provide unique insights that will support the University’s continued growth and success.”
