After a great 6 months at After Digital our team is growing and we're thrilled to welcome another fresh face to our web development team.
Having worked on a number of web development projects, we are delighted to have Stu Mileham join our development team bringing a wealth of experience. So, lets get to know him a little bit better...
What made you want to join our team?
I’d been aware of After Digital’s work and great reputation already. So when I was approached to come in and join the team, it was a no-brainer for me. Having mostly worked on my own previously, the chance to collaborate with the team was also a huge draw. An added plus is the chance to focus fully on development. Having worked as a freelancer in the past, my time was often taken up with project management, admin and client support.
Tell us more about what you did before joining After Digital?
Do you want the long or short version, haha? I used to be a full-time musician, a janitor and a school support assistant amongst other jobs! For the past five years I’ve been a freelance developer, working on all kinds of websites.
Having worked in web development, what are you bringing to the team?
My knowledge of Joomla is a big plus for the team. I think the most important thing though is a genuine passion for web development. I’m a true geek and get excited about technology and programming methods. I also love problem solving, you just can’t beat that ‘yes!!!’ moment when you find that solution to a difficult problem.
What do you get up to in your spare time?
I play my guitars, watch a lot of netflix and play snooker very badly. I love reading, a bit of cooking and eating out with my family.
Do you have a party piece or any hidden talents? (All the party pieces will eventually come out during Friday Fun at Four)!
Hmm, I’ll have to think about this one! Being able to navigate my way home after Friday Fun at Four takes remarkable skill and endurance! I’m also a whizz at extracting maximum value from supermarket lunchtime meal deals.
What is the biggest achievement in your career so far?
After leaving the music business, I found myself in a pretty much dead end job and decided to learn web development in my spare time. Turning that into a full-time career that I love has to be my biggest achievement.
Stranded on a desert island, which three items would you take with you?
A volleyball named Wilson, netflix and something to watch netflix on.
Which celeb would play you in a movie?
Aside from development, what do you think you can bring to the After Digital team?
Trying new foods and interesting beers, hanging out with friends/family, travelling. I wouldn’t say I enjoy the gym but I do go (occasionally).
Quote / motto you live by...
Excellent work… while rubbing my hands together, Monty Burns style.
We are over the moon to have Stu join the team officially (yay)! Catch up with him and say hey over on Twitter.
