We’re hugely excited to have been selected to attend the BBC Build Studio. The news comes after we successfully pitched at the Creative Studio last month, following an intensive day of brain-storming and conceptualisation for new BBC Knowledge & Learning products.
From forty diverse and fascinating ideas pitched at the Creative Studio days in Glasgow, Salford and Cardiff, After Digital is one of just 15 companies to make it through to the next stage.
Five members of the A-Team will journey down to Salford, Manchester for two days, to take part in the Build Studio transforming our idea from the Creative Studio into a solid proof-of-concept. During these 2 days we will have access to a wealth of experience and resources offered by the knowledgeable BBC staff and their digital tools, to ensure we develop a product that aligns strategically and stylistically with the BBC and their audiences.
Our product aims to create shared, collaborative experiences, which result in tailored content and allow the BBC to find out “exactly what sparks their user’s curiosity”.
At the end of the Build Studio we will present our proof-of-concept and business case to the BBC team and other attendees in the hope of being taken forward as one of the three ideas to reach the pilot development stage and potentially be commissioned for live service.
We can’t wait to get stuck in to developing our concept further and working with the BBC to develop new, innovative technologies and products that change the way users interact with content of all shapes and forms.
David Johnstone, After Digital, said; “This is a great opportunity to learn from the BBC’s experience and wealth of resources, to create truly innovative, next generation products, which enhance the BBC’s offering and the user’s experience. We’re looking forward to meeting up with the team again in Salford next week and bringing our idea to life.”
Congratulations to the other 14 companies who made it through to the next stage, we look forward to seeing you all next week in Manchester!
