After a great start to 2015, we welcome yet another friendly face, this time to our development team! Say hello to Daniel Doyle, our Drupal developer and resident bass player (the After Digital band is officially made)!
With our development team growing, we welcome Dan with open arms so let's find out what he had to say in his intro interview with me...
What made you want to join the After Digital team?
Frankly it was because I saw the website. I was very impressed with the art style and how solid it was. Then I learnt of Fluid's parent company being After Digital, checked out some of their portfolio and was instantly sold!
Tell us more about what you did before joining the team.
Before I joined After Digital I worked as a freelance Drupal developer and part time musician. I'd been interested in web design for a very long time and self taught myself up to a respectable level. I'd been freelance for too long though and I got fed up with constantly pursuing awkward clients and dealing with the paperwork! It felt like the right time to get back into a team environment and share knowledge with like-minded developers.
Having worked in development, what are you bringing to the team?
A wealth of Drupal knowledge and experience with Object Orientated PHP programming.
What do you get up to in your spare time?
I can usually be found rehearsing or gigging around Manchester and if not that, working on my personal website projects.
Do you have a party piece or any hidden talent? (All the party pieces will eventually come our during Friday Fun at Four)!
Umm, not that I can think of! (I'm sure we'll get it out of him soon enough :P).
What is the biggest achievement in your career so far?
Performing at The Royal Albert Hall.
Stranded on a desert island, which three items would you take?
My bass guitar, a parasol and a fine selection of beers.
Which celeb would play you in a movie?
Harold Ramis in Ghostbusters.
Aside from being a development whizz, what do you think you can bring to the After Digital team?
A positive attitude, friendly demeanour and a theoretical wealth of musical knowledge
Quote / motto you live by...
On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog (I can't really think of anything better)!
We are delighted to have Daniel on board and look forward to seeing what else he can bring to the team. Over the next few months, Dan will be working on some of our key clients - keep an eye on our projects page for our latest site launches.
