Christmas has come early in the After Digital office (not only because our Xmas party was a tad premature being held in November) and we're feeling the festive glow thanks to the news that we've been shortlisted for 'Best Use of Social Media' at the Northern Digital Awards 2017 for our work with Deliveroo.

First launched in 2015, the Northern Digital Awards are the work of Don't Panic and Prolific North and aim to celebrate the very best in digital marketing talent and campaigns from across the UK. With numerous categories, they welcome entries from the public, private and third sectors, which showcase excellence in strategic digital thinking and measurable results.

So, we were honoured to hear that they've selected our #KitchenFail campaign with Deliveroo as a finalist for the 'Best Use of Social Media' category.

Back in the summer, Deliveroo approached us to help them in expanding into the North West of England, raising their brand profile and ultimately their customer base across key cities, namely Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool. They asked us to come up with a number of creative campaign concepts, which we could engage with both new customers and new potential restaurant partners.

Find out all about our work with Deliveroo in our case study:

"We were excited when Deliveroo approached us to support them in their marketing. We loved the brand and the challenge of supporting them to break into new markets. Working with them allowed us to bring both our creative and our technical marketing skills to the fore and I'm massively proud of the results the team have achieved. They were also an absolute pleasure to work with and we look forward to future collaborations."

Deliveroo Award Nomination for After Digital

"The (After Digital) team has been highly proactive, creative and responsive throughout our time with them and their results have exceeded our expectations."

- Charlotte Bailey, North West Commercial Manager, Deliveroo

Not only did we come up with a number of creative campaigns, which were then seen through to execution, we also supported them in developing a far more effective social media strategy. Our design and marketing teams came together, in order to create beautiful creative with lasting and measurable impact.

Working with their team we rolled out both the nominated #KitchenFail campaign - a concept looking at gaining user generated content and engaging with wider audiences on Twitter - and a number of proactive ad-hoc campaigns, such as the partner campaign with Almost Famous Burgers for the 2016 Olympics.

And, the results were significant. As well as creating immediate impact with our campaigns, we also saw lasting growth in both the quantity (followers) and quality (engagement) of their Twitter audiences. Success that has been further validated by this campaign not only being shortlisted for this award but also for a Drum Network Award 2016 and highlighted by Twitter as 'Recommended' in the Twitter Awards 2016.

The winners of all Northern Digital Awards 2017 will be announced at a glamorous evening reception on Thursday 26th January 2017 at the stunning New Dock Hall, Royal Armouries in Leeds. A big shout out to all the incredible companies and campaigns nominated - we look forward to seeing you at the awards ceremony.
