Magento became the industry standard for building out an online business, with its ability to also communicate with internal stock systems in real-time. But, as with all platforms, it has to keep on evolving. And, back in 2015, Magento launched 2.0 version of the CMS.
With feedback taken from their vast online community of users and developers, they provided processes that could enhance productivity and new functionality that would not only make Magento a better platform, but make their community of users happier and have greater control.

Magento 2.0 brings a far sleeker user interface, designed to alleviate previous frustrations with the platform, especially around the training required for administrators. The new drag-and-drop layout allows users to interact with Magento not only from desktop computers, but to interact with the CMS on mobile and tablet - great for administrators on the move.

The steps involved in Magento 1.0’s standard purchase path were often criticised as too clunky, resulting in potential abandoned carts and lost conversions. Of course, customisation was possible to work-around these problems, but this involved further time and money. Magento 2.0 introduces more intuitive purchase paths, including stored and retrieved personal details (thus reducing the duplication of effort for shoppers). Thus, shortening the purchasing journey and increasing user satisfaction.
We all know the importance of having a responsive website - SEO, UX, CRO - and Magento has now responded to this by making adjustments to their themes, integrating videos and mobile-friendly checkouts within the standard CMS.
