We're delighted to welcome our new Marketing Intern, Carly Welsh, to the After Digital Team! After graduating from the University of Strathclyde in 2013, Carly undertook a six month placement at a small digital marketing agency in Glasgow and has now joined us bringing an eagerness to grow and develop her marketing and digital skills.

Carly will join our Marketing team, supporting the agency's internal marketing, advertising, events and PR. So let's see what Carly had to say in her introductory interview with me...

What attracted you to the role and After Digital?

I was first attracted to After Digital as I felt it would be a great place to put the knowledge I have from university and previous employment into practice.  Working with an experienced team I can learn from is a great opportunity to grow and develop my skills and working with a large company in the marketing and web design industry is really exciting.

What was the your last job / last company you worked for and what is the most important thing(s) you learned there?

I was previously employed by AIMS Media as a Digital Marketing Executive after graduating from University. From working in this position, I gained excellent experience in social media and account management which I hope to put to good use in the future.

Tell us an interesting fact about you.

I am Tinie Tempah's number one fan!

What is your favourite film of all time?

My favourite film of all time is Definitely Maybe but I do like the odd horror film too.

If you could be anyone for a day who would it be and why?

It would have to be Lord Sugar - an inspirational businessman and I would love to spend a day living his life.

What are your interests outside work?

I enjoy socialising with friends, spending time with my family, walking my dog and reading up on areas that interest me.

What was your first job?

My first job was as a Customer Sales Assistant working in Boots UK. This was a great job where I gained lots of important experience in dealing with customers' and enhancing their overall in-store experience. But, my first 'industry' experience was with AIMS.

What was your nickname at school (if you had one)?

I didn't really have one at school but now my friends call me Carlykins.

What would be your specialist subject on Mastermind?

It would probably be something to do with RnB music if they ever had such a category. It's my favourite music.

What has been your worst job ever?

My worst job was working on Buchanan Street selling Snapfax books when I was 16. It rained the whole first day, when working outside, this wasn't too enjoyable!

I'm delighted to welcome Carly into the marketing team and look forward to seeing how she develops and hones her new skills over the coming weeks and months. Look out for her first blog coming to the site this week!
