Social Enterprise Academy came to After Digital in late 2014 wanting an innovative digital partner to conceptualise, design and build a stunning new responsive website for their core platform and two complementary, dynamic microsites for SEA local hubs. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve launched the core website and the first of SEA’s hubs - check them out!

Focusing on leadership, enterprise and personal development, the Social Enterprise Academy (SEA) works at local and national levels, bringing everyone together to share and learn at all stages of personal and organisational growth. As an official TEDxGlasgow partner and having worked with similar organisations in the past, SEA’s values were very much in tune with ours at After Digital and we were excited to be given the opportunity to apply our breadth of knowledge to this project.

The brief called for a strategic digital agency to redesign both the core and sub-sites to better communicate the organisation’s vision and mission. Our collaborative process began with a number of on-site days to gain a thorough understanding of SEA’s proposition and requirements. Our on-site days are a unique opportunity for key stakeholders from the client’s team to spend time on-site with core members of the After Digital project team to work together. This approach allows each member of the team to gain an insight into key organisational and user goals, core user journeys, identify priority content, site architecture and outline priority wireframes.

"I would happily recommend After Digital - they have been incredibly flexible, supportive and helpful throughout our ambitious project and we are absolutely delighted with the results. Thank you everyone – we love it!"

Jess Gildener, Social Enterprise Academy

Through our collaborative working approach, it was identified that SEA wanted to increase cross-selling opportunities, improve the search function with more relevant features and make the website more appealing to audiences locally, as well as internationally. As such, the After Digital UX team started from a mobile-first perspective and created a series of wireframes to help SEA achieve their goals. Developed on an open source platform, the website makes use of best practice responsive design, ensuring a seamless user experience across devices.

The website launched at the end of January and has already boosted engagement by almost 10%, encouraging visitors to spend more time on the website engaging with key content and attracting more new users to the site. International traffic has also grown, with significant increases in visits from the US, Russia, Brazil, Australia and France.

“The SEA project has been a pleasure to work on and we’ve loved getting to know their team and organisation. We’re looking forward to continuing this relationship for both the launch of the next sites and further digital support.”
