We’re pretty old by digital standards (18 years and counting) but we always take a fresh approach to our work. Since the beginning of 2015, we’ve continued to build up a great team of like-minded individuals across our Glasgow, London and Manchester offices and we’re super excited to welcome another fresh face - say hola to Eva, our resident Spanish teacher and PPC whizz kid ;).

So, let's find out a little bit more about our lovely Eva...

Eva Rey

What made you want to join our team?
Good question. I was looking for both a bigger, international company where I could grow both personally and professionally. One year ago I had my first contact with digital marketing and I completely fell in love with this world. But, if I am honest, PPC is my favourite. With little space to write text ads, it makes the PPC task very challenging, don’t you think? I can write blog posts and manage social media, but I prefer PPC!!

Tell us a bit more about what you did before joining After Digital.
I landed in Manchester on 4th September 2013 to do my Masters in Public Relations at Manchester Metropolitan University. During my Masters I had many internships (Smoking Gun PR, Mistry Marketing and Events) and when I finished my dissertation, I joined Latitude in Warrington as a Paid Social Media Executive. This is when I discovered digital marketing is a wonderful world so I started to look for other roles when my contract finished (not only social media) and I joined Coffee Pot Digital as Digital Marketing Executive. This is when I discovered that PPC was for me!

In the past I have worked with some big brands including BathroomTV, Ninja Kitchen, Booths and have experience in PR for Silentnight, Paint by Conran and Persil.

Having worked in marketing, what are you bringing to the team?
I have joined After Digital with 3 Google AdWords certifications, this means that I have enough knowledge to share with everyone. Also, as Google is growing and improving every single day, I want to do the same, AT THE SAME TIME!! (I said in my interview that I was born (professionally) at the same time as Google Analytics and I consider Google Analytics as my ‘twin’. Cat still remembers this sentence!!) Also, I can teach Spanish if any of the team want to learn.

What do you get up to in your spare time?
It depends on the weather, when it is sunny I do a lot of things outdoors (cycling, walking, travelling) and when it is not sunny I like to stay at home reading and watching TV series’ (Netflix is the best ever!). I also love cooking and I can play the guitar (is this because I am Spanish?? I’m not sure!)

Do you have a party piece or any hidden talents? (All the party pieces will eventually come out during Friday Fun at Four)!
I have many hidden talents, but I don’t remember where I left them haha (I’m not sure if this joke written in English sounds good haha). In my defence I will say that I am not a shy person and if I need to sing or dance I will try my best… I promise! Also, I have a videocamera where I like to record everything and make short movies!!

What is the biggest achievement in your career so far?
I can highlight 2, the first one is when I completed my Masters. This is a great achievement because I did it in English, and the second one is that I am working in something that I am passion about. What else? Personally, I have to say, I’m really proud of myself because I quit smoking 2 years ago!!

Stranded on a desert island, which three items would you take?
Well, this is the hardest question so far… but my answer is clear. Can I take with me an architect, a builder and an interior designer so I can build the most luxurious hotel in the world? Of course, After Digital would have ‘all-inclusive’ paid holidays in my hotel… see you there guys - (Our Gill's got the interior designer part covered)!

Which celeb would play you in a movie?
Can I play myself?

Aside from marketing, what do you think you can bring to the After Digital team?
I could say many things but I am going to say that this is something that both myself and the team are going to discover together. But please, if you want to learn Spanish, Spanish cooking, PPC, Portuguese or Judo (I’m brown belt)... don’t hesitate to contact me! 🙂
