The company has always had a strong commitment to giving back to our local communities and supporting causes further afield. So, when our head of strategy, Cat took on the challenge to raise £3,000 for the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, we were happy to offer up our moral and financial support.

Participating in the hospice's (A Little Less) Strictly Come Dancing event, Cat has committed to not only raising critical funds but also strapping on some dancing shoes and doing an Argentine Tango under that famous glitterball (she'll also be getting tango'd especially for the occasion). Just like the BBC show, Cat and the eight other contestants have been paired with a professional dancer and tasked with mastering a ballroom dance to wow a live audience on Saturday 10th March at the Hilton in Glasgow.

Despite a series of unfortunate events that resulted in Cat's practice starting later than anticipated, she is now well underway with rehearsals, preparing for the big day (this Saturday - eek).

She's now exceeded her £3,000 fundraising target - but you can still donate to this incredibly worthy cause here (with all donations going direct to PPWH): We're immensely proud to be supporting Cat as one of her two corporate sponsors, alongside long-term client AutoRek - a leading provider of financial control and data management solutions.

"We're passionate about supporting local initiatives and our communities, delivering above and beyond our commercial goals. We've had a great relationship with the Hospice for over a decade and so it was an easy decision to support Cat in her commitment to fundraising for them in 2018 - we're rooting for her!"

- Ken Beattie, After Digital

Let's take a look behind the scenes:

"We wanted to support Cat and PPWH as they are a local cause based in and contributing to Glasgow. As a company, we support many different charities in different ways through the year. We believe PPWH is a very worthwhile charity that provides a fantastic service to people living in and around Greater Glasgow. Good luck to all involved."

- Lyn Fleming, AutoRek

About the Hospice

Every year the Price & Princess of Wales Hospice (PPWH) cares for over 1,200 patients living with a life-limiting illness and their families, both within the hospice and in their own homes in and around Glasgow. In order to deliver these critical services, the Hospice generates costs of £5million each year, but only £1.9m of this comes from the NHS – the rest has to be raised through fundraising.

That’s why it is so vital for them to secure support as they look to extend their care to even more patients and families who need their help.

Over the years, we've been delighted to support the hospice in a variety of ways, from launching their old website some ten years ago as a pro bono project, to fundraising activity. It's just one of many causes close to our hearts.

About (A Little Less) Strictly Come Dancing

Now in its ninth year, this is PPWH's major annual fundraising event. Based on the top hit BBC Television series, the event will be hosted by Carol Smillie and features the spectacular 18-piece Syd Lawrence Orchestra who will provide the soundtrack to the evening. Eight former Scottish ballroom dance champions will partner with contestants from the world of business, TV and radio to battle it out to become Strictly champion on Saturday 10 March 2018. There is also a special performance by guest dancers from the BBC show - Giovanni and Oti - who will join the judging panel.

We're firmly behind #TeamCat, so here's to many TENs!

Our CSR Commitment

We take corporate social responsibility seriously across various policies and practices. This is just one in a series of charitable activities we've supported over the past 12 months, from attending and donating to the Macmillan Rugby Lunch just last week, climbing Ben Nevis with Scottish Women in Technology back in June of last year, to breaking in our running shoes at the Color Run UK.

We'll be updating you on more of our latest pro bono and CSR projects very soon. But, in the meantime, you can still donate below to PPWH's Strictly fundraiser.
