If you’re a regular reader of our blogs you’ll already know that last month we were shortlisted for two Glasgow Business Awards - the first for Creative Marketing for our work with long-term client, Illuminated Mirrors, the second, for the People Development of our own team (read all about them over here). So, we were thrilled to hear that we've been nominated for a third award in just over as many weeks.

After our rebrand last week, we were excited to hear we had received our very first shortlist under our shiny new name After Digital - this time for the Best Business to Business Solution at The Herald Scottish Digital Business Awards.

As a trusted digital partner within EDF Energy’s agency roster for several years now, we've a number of projects under our belt from EDF Energy's 5-Year Digital Strategy to the omnichannel review for Home Move and the Crown Commercial Service portal. So, it's great that our work on the industry leading Market Insight portal has been recognised at this year's Herald Digital Business Awards.

We were selected to strategise, design and develop an intuitive digital solution that would enable EDF Energy to provide transparent market data to their business customer base on the go via the ‘Market Insight Portal’. The goal was to translate high volumes of complex data to the end user - the commercial and public sector customer.

We worked closely with the EDF Energy senior team to analyse users, their goals and user journeys, in order to create working prototypes that could be tested with key user groups. From here, our UX experts worked on creating intuitive charts, dynamic reports and useful commentary, which would facilitate users in the speedy and effective consumption of valuable information on the go, thus informing their purchasing decisions in a highly unpredictable marketplace. 

Positive energy and amazing results

The result was a highly customisable, responsive and user-friendly dashboard and reporting portal, which has received fantastic feedback from all user groups. From our client's perspective, our work has been praised as the ‘Best Digital Solution’ that the EDF Energy Group have ever implemented and in the first month alone, the number of website sign-ups increased by an astounding 2900% (to the highest figures on record, a level which has been maintained ever since). Beyond this, Market Insight has gone on to win the ‘Inspire Award for Innovation’ at EDF Energy’s European-wide internal awards, for which only "exceptional pieces of work are put forward". 

As always, it's fantastic to see the great work being put out by Scottish businesses and to be shortlisted alongside other major brands like BBC Scotland and AXA Insurance, and fellow agencies such as Whitespace and Equator.
