We've worked with the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) for several years now and so were chuffed when they asked us to pitch for the design and development of a full suite of stunning responsive sites for their core website and sub-brands - Royal Highland Show (RHS), Royal Highland Centre (RHC) and the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET).
The core strategy for the suite of sites was to develop an overall theme or feel that acted as the collective element, whilst crafting individual branded and bespoke websites per brand to ensure their unique identities still shone through.
We kicked off the journey with the Royal Highland Show - you can take a look at it here - www.royalhighlandshow.org. In order to satisfy the aim of easily amending content and taking full control of their platform, whilst modernising the design and platform , we proposed a change of CMS. In order to decide the most appropriate content management system for the job, and prioritise objectives and content, we hosted our famous discovery sessions.

To capture the attention of website users, we utilised our knowledge from the initial scoping session to design and develop a visually attractive responsive website for the RHS. The homepage banner is a large, auto-scrolling carousel made up on high quality imagery depicting the wide range of events and activities on offer.
UX best practice and user journey mapping allowed for intuitive navigation to be developed that guides the user seamlessly through the RHS website. An intelligent search function has been developed to ensure all users can easily locate what they’re looking for.
Looking to cater to international users, our development team incorporated Google translate meaning the site is available to English, Spanish, French, German and Polish users.
Key social integration and plugins have been developed within the CMS allowing for optimal content promotion across the website and other channels. User engagement is further encouraged through integrated multimedia and lightbox overlays.
