After Digital and the Spektrix Trio!

Here at After Digital, we love a bit of integration, so when a number of clients decided to use Spektrix as their new ticketing/CRM platform we were excited to get them up and running!

We first met the Spektrix team at an AMA conference in Glasgow several years ago and were intrigued by their cloud-based approach. To quote their website, Spektrix’s mission “is to help arts organisations be more successful through better ticketing, marketing and fundraising.” As you can see, much like us, they are focused on the arts and providing them with software that accelerates and streamlines their sales, fundraising and marketing efforts. Their software allows those who use it to understand data about their customers and donors, as well as sharing it across all their departments, making it as easy as possible to act on by using intuitive tools. You can find out more about it over on the Spektrix website.

Our Spektrix clients...

Our first Spektrix integration was with the Lyric Theatre in Belfast and we are delighted to say that we now have another three clients making the most of this software, National Theatre Scotland, Bush Theatre and The Sixteen.

The Sixteen

We built the website for The Sixteen a few years ago, this client is a choir and period-instrument orchestra, founded and conducted by Harry Christopher. Launched in 1979, The Sixteen have earned respect as one of the greatest ensembles in the world, with a stunning and distinctive blend of male and female voices.

The Sixteen were looking to develop and improve their user experience and choose Spektrix as their ticketing platform. Speaking on why, Marketing Manager, Jess Tomkins said:

“Their reputation precedes them - we had heard very positive feedback from other arts organisations already using Spektrix. We wanted to work with a company that was really committed to delivering an excellent customer experience and had the flexibility and drive to change their services depending on customer need. We liked the idea of buying into a system that is constantly updating and improving its services, rather than buying a package and then paying for each additional service or upgrade.”

Utilising the API, we directly pulled event information into their current WordPress CMS. This allowed for us to retain the current functionalities of their site, such as the site search and calendar. We then styled the Spektrix pathway to create a cohesive experience for users from start to finish.

They wanted two key things from their integration; a seamless customer journey from the first click to check out and for AD to work with Spektrix to ensure styling of the web pages looks professional and in line with current styling of their website. Moving from only having external links has given The Sixteen more control over the user's journey and raised brand prominence throughout this experience. So far, The Sixteen are happy with their integration:

“We are very impressed with Spektrix so far. They delivered the project on schedule and offered a high level of support right the way through. We are impressed with the efficiency and knowledge of the support team. We are already seeing the rewards of using Spektrix, with increased numbers of customer donations and cross-sells.”

National Theatre of Scotland

Having been a part of the National Theatre of Scotland’s digital journey for several years, working with them through a digital transformation project, a new site launch and continuous digital growth, we were excited for another large project to kick off!

National Theatre Scotland is internationally renowned and was established back in 2006. It’s known fondly as Scotland’s ‘theatre without walls’, and they have managed to get over 250 global productions under their belts in the last 12 years. Going strong, they are continuing their mission to reach and leave a lasting impression on audiences worldwide. Speaking on their choice to integrate Spektrix and their expected results in doing so, National Theatre of Scotland’s Director of Audience and Media, Charlotte Gross, said:

“After looking at different systems, we found that Spektrix fitted our requirements best. It is a very user-friendly box office solution, which has been developed with marketers and fundraisers in mind.”

“The most important for us was to offer our online visitors a good experience online: a streamlined buying journey and the possibility to cross-sell across shows and fundraising - all of this happening on our website without involving third parties.”

—Charlotte Gross

Similar to The Sixteen, National Theatre of Scotland were looking to bring a more cohesive journey to their users, making their site the start and end point for interaction and experience. Utilising the same API sync into WordPress, we have again allowed for the current site features to still be used. So far, National Theatre of Scotland has been impressed with their integration:

“It has been great to see transactions with tickets for a show, merchandising and a donation to National Theatre of Scotland, it’s all coming together beautifully!”

—Charlotte Gross

Bush Theatre

Established in 1972, The Bush Theatre has a world-renowned reputation for nurturing and celebrating new and exciting playwrights. They focus on finding exciting and fresh voices, aiming to produce unique works of the highest possible standard and we were delighted to be asked to take over this innovative company’s website. However, they had already undergone a Spektrix integration once we took over the support of their site.

Although it's early days, we are already in discussions of what we can bring to the table in creating an even better, immersive user experience of the ticket buying journey, further enhancing the treatment of their vast catalogue of non-productions, including workshops and community events. As well as the opportunities to further improve the brand and relationship The Bush Theatre has with their loyal customer base.
