We like to consider ourselves a colourful bunch and we love any opportunity for the team to get together and raise money for a good cause. Since our Glasgow office moved into a brand-new city centre base just a few months ago, however, we’ve been caught red-handed with unhealthy wares from the local burger quarter on one too many occasions. So, it’s time to show our true colours…

On 17th July we’re thrilled to say we’ll be donning our cleanest, white t-shirts ready to roll out the red carpet for Glasgow’s inaugural The Color Run Presented by Skittles. The event, which promises to be the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is destined to paint the town red, blue, yellow and every shade under the sun in the ultimate 3.1 miles of colourful showers (and after the lack of exercise in here of late, we're sure our faces will also be flushed a shade of crimson). Starting at the SECC, it will take us and 5000 other runners along the Clyde, through George Square and around several other local sites, to a fabulous finish festival just beyond the historic Saltmarket.

We couldn't be happier to be running it for some causes that are extremely close to our hearts; Marie Curie and the Rainbow Group. With one in three people now diagnosed with some form of cancer, Marie Curie has been a beacon of hope and support in many of the team's lives, providing a lifeline during difficult times. Meanwhile, The Rainbow Group is a relatively small but incredibly important charity that hosts a weekly club based in Largs for individuals with disabilities. The charity is especially personal for our MD, David, and we're hoping to donate to it in memory of his wonderful sister Deborah who sadly passed away last year. Both charities mean the world to us and we hope, that as well as having fun, we can make at least a small difference to the lives of a few people.

The run, which was founded in 2011 by event producer Travis Snyder, has the aim of encouraging even the most inexperienced novice (like a fair few of us) lead healthier and happier lives. It is inspired by the Hindu festival of Holi, as well as other vibrant events around the globe, where communities come together to celebrate through two days of colour and fun. With events now running (puns aren't just confined to colours, it seems) across the globe, we're dye-ing (*cough cough*) for a few vibrant hues in an otherwise grey Glaswegian summer.

Our participation in the event isn't completely out of the blue, mind. We’ve been working with the lovely folk at The Color Run for the last few months, bringing a splash of colour to their digital presence for Glasgow through a careful combination of PPC advertising, social media advertising and outreach with well-known media titles. We’re cyantifically sure (groan) the team will pass the finish line with flying colours and we can’t wait for the red-hot event to tickle us pink. Our colourful language, meanwhile, has led us down a dark hole it seems...
