Based in London and with an outstanding international reputation in the arts for disruptive live theatre, the Almeida welcomes staff, students and visitors from around the world. With it's education arm - the Almeida Projects - the Almeida Theatre provides young people with the opportunity to get involved in workshops, performance projects and gain relevant experience. Yet, it's web presence failed to emulate this vibrancy and energy. So, Almeida sought out After Digital to help them reimagine their online identity and create a website that both looked great and drove results.

With mobile usage overtaking desktop, our design and development team created an impressive, image-led, responsive website, with the aim of enhancing the user experience, thus increasing engagement with the theatre.

Bespoke Development and Ticketing Integration
The ‘What’s On’ calendar and booking facility enhance the user experience and meet key business objectives set out by the Almeida team at the beginning of the project. Whilst, the donate function and the ability to purchase gift memberships on behalf of others aid the user in fulfilling more of their goals online. Putting our wealth of integration expertise into practice, the new site is integrated with Patron Edge, the Theatre’s existing ticketing system, providing a far more robust solution for online ticketing and ongoing administration than previously available to them.
“We had initially chosen After Digital for the project as we were impressed with their work in the arts and wanted to work with an agency that had a combination of visual and strategic expertise. From the initial discovery session right through to launch, we thoroughly enjoyed working with After Digital, and we are delighted with how the website reflects our new, energised rebrand. We would happily recommend After Digital and we look forward to continuing the relationship.”
Jane MacPherson, Director of Marketing and Communications, Almeida Theatre
Launched in 2015, the new website has seen performance improvements across the board, with a 17% increase in visits (13% increase in new visitors and a 22% increase in returning visitors) and a huge 119% boost in engagement in the first 2 months alone.
The website has gone on to receive a Commendation for 'Best Website Design' at the Drum's Scottish Design Awards 2016.
