In 2010, the Royal Welsh College for Music and Drama (RWCMD), situated in Cardiff, was planning an impressive £22.5 million suite of new facilities that would reflect the world-class calibre of students it hosts. With performances open to the public and changes in how patrons buy tickets the RWCMD selected us to develop an efficient new online booking facility making use of Tessitura technology.

demand on administrative staff

Aiming to disrupt existing infrastructure as little as possible but bring in new functionality to facilitate administration, we seamlessly integrated the Tessitura ticketing system with their existing website design and structure. Moving from a more traditional operating model, the solution not only allowed customers to purchase tickets online, but also to select their own seats, and choose to have their tickets posted, or held for collection on the day of the performance.

"Within five days of the system going live we’d had 47 successful transactions. We’re very pleased with that, as it’s far more than we would have done through telephone or in-person transactions."

- Ian Lewis, Marketing Technology Manager, RWCMD

Driving increased ticket sales & online revenue

We created an accessible interface that presents users with a variety of unique ticket booking options in either English or Welsh, and the RWCMD has already witnessed a significant increase in ticket sales and online revenues.
