Looking to emulate these pure and authentic values and to develop an online presence that was a true extension of their brand, Tomintoul asked After Digital to design and develop their new responsive website. Having already developed the parent brand site for Angus Dundee back in 2013, phase two of this fantastic project involved the redesign and development of its two brands: Tomintoul and Glencadam.

  • Utilise high quality imagery to increase sales from existing customers both in the UK and internationally
  • Utilise video and multimedia to tell the story of the brand and engage users
  • Include strong CTA's on the homepage and throughout to encourage interaction
  • Portray the easy going, modern, quirky and contemporary brand image of Tomintoul


With a well established understanding of the parent company Angus Dundee, we worked with the Tomintoul team to get under the surface of this unique brand. After identifying challenges with the existing Tomintoul website and key objectives for the new website, our marketing team and design teams advised on best practice for structure (UX), content (IA) and SEO before the wireframing process began.


UX Design and Wireframing

Making best use of Tomintoul’s existing content and starting from a mobile-first design perspective, our creative team wireframed key user journeys and pages of the site. An image-led approach aimed to depict the modern and contemporary brand, as well as promoting the impressive whisky range. Taking the unique bottle shape and the strong branding, an attractive, modern and elegant website was delivered emulating the freshness and purity of Tomintoul whisky.

As well as portraying the hand-crafted, subtle characteristics of this award-winning gentle dram through imagery, a unique looping video banner highlights the origins and organic nature of the whisky reaching out to key target markets and inviting audiences from around the world to engage online.

Bespoke Web Development

With three websites making up the Angus Dundee suite we created a bespoke multi-site manager solution in the open source Joomla CMS, allowing for the Tomintoul team to take complete control of their website and providing maximum flexibility.
