Our B Corp Ambitions

We’re pleased to announce that this year we’ll be applying for a B Corp status. We want to showcase our commitment to making a difference in the world. This certification takes a lot of dedication and effort from the entire team, so we wanted to share the process with you.

What is B Corp?

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance. B Corp is a legal commitment to use your profits and power to be accountable to all stakeholders; including employees, customers, suppliers, and your community. Having this certification means that you are committed to using business as a force for good, being transparent in all aspects of your work.

Why do we want it?

We want to show that we are serious about using our power to make real and beneficial change for the environment and our community. AD has spent years ensuring that our purpose and brand values dictate every decision we make. A B Corp certification ensures that we are managing our social and environmental performance with the best tools available.  That’s why we want to achieve B Corp status as soon as possible.

What demonstrates our goals?

In 2021 we partnered with Ecologi, an environmental conservation organisation to help us reduce our carbon footprint and support global climate projects. Together, we’ve planted trees in local conservation areas such as Largs, whilst also supporting projects in Brazil, Vietnam, and Chile.

Our Operations Manager, Lesley, is taking part in the BIMA sustainability cohort as part of a longer-term goal to understand how we can do better as a company in the future. This will help us be informed when making decisions that impact our community and the environment.

Two years ago we limited the amount of single use items in our everyday practices by providing each of our team with free reusable water bottles, bamboo pens and cotton tote bags. This helped us reduce our waste output as a business and helped our team become more sustainable in their personal lives

After Digital regularly works with local charities to give back to the community. This is an important part of our core values. Not only do we support various charities through donations, we also do pro-bono work where we can with non-profits and charities (such as our digital marketing work with boom saloon).

Last year, After Digital also made up to 25% of the company shares available to employees. This opportunity pushes the company further by allowing our team members to be fully involved and engaged with After Digital and its future. This ensures that our future success is shared with the employees who helped to make it happen.

In the long run, we hope this opportunity benefits not only AD, but also our community as well. To keep up to date with the progress of our B Corp application and our latest business updates, subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
